So, I suppose I should start this off somehow... Well, a basic introduction is the cliche, so I guess I'll go with that. After all, they wouldn't be cliche's if they didn't work.
But I digress. A lot. You might notice that if you read this long enough.
On track now, as you may have guessed, I am Impulse. And I'm sort of a superhero. Y'know, those guys with the powers? Well, mine is super-speed. And before you go off on me about ripping off DC, I decided to call myself that before I knew that they'd done it first. Do you know how hard it is to come up with a good original superhero name? It's friggin hard! Especially for speedsters, there are only so many synonyms for 'fast' out there, and Impulse is way better than something like Dr. Doubletime, or crap like that.
Name aside, I guess I got my powers around the same time they started cropping up everywhere, I doubt I was the first, though at the time, I hadn't heard of any of the others. I won't really go into an origin story, or describe how I first noticed my powers. Lets just say it involved foiling a crime and leave it at that. Wouldn't want to accidentally give away my Secret Identity or something. Anyone could be reading this, and even if I hadn't made various enemies, I don't really want to deal with the press or anything like that.
Aside from my name and powers, I guess I can let you know that I'm based in the Twin Cities, in Minnesota. Even with superspeed, it's tough to cover a wider area than that, so I'll only really leave the state for a major emergency.
Over the next few posts, I'll outline how I got from the discovery of my powers, to going out and kicking ass with my powers. Maybe I'll present some profiles of the folks I've run into out there. I'll definitely be willing to answer any questions you ask, except about secret identities, weaknesses, and anything about any secret plans I might have to foil some villain. Other than that, fire away.
